Authorities say a man was arrested in Idaho Falls, Idaho after he allegedly confessed to the murder of his girlfriend and lived with her body for several weeks.
The Idaho Falls Police Department said they arrested Chris Foiles, 42, on Friday, after he was spotted exiting a motorhome associated with a woman who was reported missing last month in Montana.
Police in Idaho Falls said they received a call that a motorhome parked on Wardell Street may be the same one police in Bozeman, Montana were searching for in connection to the Dec. 15 disappearance of Megan Stedman, 34.
Foiles was detained, and police said they found evidence inside the motorhome to arrest him on the charge of first degree murder.
The Idaho Falls Police Department did not respond to USA TODAY'S request for comment or records request but according to local outlets, Foiles admitted to police that he murdered Stedman.
According to an arrest report reviewed by KRTV, police in Montana provided information for a search warrant. As they drove down from Bozeman, Montana, Idaho Falls police set up surveillance on the motorhome.
The motorhome was a 1973 Dodge RV, which had no license plate or VIN, the Spokesman-Review reported, citing court documents.

Foiles waives Miranda rights, admits to killing
Foiles exited the motor home and allegedly shouted "I am Chris Foiles, I killed my girlfriend, she is in the RV," when police approached him, KRTV reported.
When police searched the motorhome, they found a woman's body with a tattoo similar to Stedman's, and credit cards in her name, KRTV reported.
Foiles allegedly waived his Miranda rights during an interview with police and told them the body found in the motorhome was Stedman's.
Stedman's family told KHQ that Foiles was her estranged boyfriend.
Foiles told police that he and Stedman arrived in Idaho Falls around Dec. 22 and parked the motorhome in a Walmart parking lot, the Spokesman-Review reported.
KRTV reported that in his interview with police, Foiles said that a few weeks before his arrest, he got into an argument with Stedman and stabbed her in the neck. He then "intentionally stabbed Megan in the chest with the intent to kill her."
Foiles allegedly heard Stedman still moving in the back of the motorhome and then proceeded to stab her multiple times until she stopped moving.
Foiles had a preliminary hearing on Tuesday. He's currently being held in the Bonneville County Jail without bail.
